Why is auto insurance more expensive for male drivers than females?

Generally, a female driver with age between 18 and 25 will pay less than her male opposite since it is a fact that the former meets less accidents and violations that the latter.

The truth is there are more male drivers than females. The more you drive, the more you are at risk of meeting an accident. More so, men are more risky drivers which may cause more moving violation tickets. Given these, this is why males’ premium is higher than females’.

As such, one’s gender really affects his or her premium rate since female drivers meet fewer incidents than males. The good thing though is that since as a male driver you got to drive more when you were younger than you are now older, your driving experience also matures. And since the insurance companies acknowledge this, your premium gets less as you age as compared to your female counterparts. More so, if you have been a very good driver - that is having a good driving record and no claims.
